2018 Youth Aviation Scholarship Recipient - Trey Geboy

Trey Geboy has been a member of the Candler Field Youth Aviation Program since he was a freshman in high school. Over the past four years, Trey has accumulated enough shop time to begin flying. Trey is also the founder of the Future Pilots of America, a club active in encouraging students to learn more about careers in aviation. The club currently has over 400 members. Trey plans to use his scholarship money to help cover the cost of his cross countries and nighttime flying as well as to help cover his tuition at Middle Georgia State University where he plans to study aeronautical engineering and finish up his ratings as a commercial pilot.

2017 Youth Aviation Scholarship Recipient - Jacob Gates

Jacob Gates is pursuing a business degree at Gordon State College while also chasing his dream of a career as a pilot. He is active in the Candler Field Youth Aviation program, which has afforded him the ability to log nearly 120 hours of flight time and earn his pilot's license.

Jacob’s dedication to learn all things aviation has also driven him to log nearly 1,000 hours of shop time, which will help him earn his A&P license. Jacob plans to use his $1,500 in scholarship money to pay for his college tuition.
