Jacob Gates is pursuing a business degree at Gordon State College while also chasing his dream of a career as a pilot. He is active in the Candler Field Youth Aviation program, which has afforded him the ability to log nearly 120 hours of flight time and earn his pilot’s license. Jacob’s dedication to learn all things aviation has also driven him to log nearly 1,000 hours of shop time, which will help him earn his A&P license. Jacob plans to use his $1,500 in scholarship money to pay for his college tuition.
